Use These Sleeping Tips While Traveling?

Any seasoned traveler will tell you horrors about trying to fall asleep in a hotel room where a fan is loudly rattling or you are next to a noisy party. Here are some simple tips to use the next time you are trying to get some shut eye while traveling.

Travel with ear plugs so you can block out some normal room noise. No matter what, ear plugs solve a whole mess of problems if you are not a sound sleeper. You may also try noise-canceling head phones with soft, relaxing music playing.

Always place a “Do not disturb sign on the Door” it usually helps others to be quiet in and around you.

Ask the desk for their quietest room and location upon check in. Most staff will know which rooms are the quietest and away from outside noise.

If luck should have it and you get a room reserved next to a loud neighbor contact the front desk quickly. Most hotels want to make their guests happy and if you are experiencing loud noises so are many others in the hotel.

Keep your same bed time routine going that you have at home. For me it is always a glass of water, a few pages of my book and setting the alarm clock. Whether your routine is doing a few minutes of t.v. or saying your bed time prayers follow the same pattern to get your brain into sleep mode.

Falling asleep in a new bed and room is sometimes just a matter of routine. Let’s hope your travel zzzz’s are better.
